Silk Road - 26 May 2009 - Koch Kor Village Kukidor

We stopped at Koch Kor Village Kukidor for a felt making demonstration. First they soften it by beating it with metal rods. Then they lay a layer on straw matting. A second layer was put on it. Then colored wool was placed on it to form a design. It was tightly rolled up and boiling water was poured over it. Then they and members of the group jumped on it for about 20 minutes. They unrolled it and soaped it and squeezed it out several times. Further work in terms of pressing was required. In any case, we went on to lunch in the yurt. The food was not bad. The last stop was the gift shop where I shopped for gifts for various family members. I have almost everyone covered. Yurts
