We wound up eating breakfast earlier than scheduled which enabled us to get an early start.
We were heading for the Dolon Pass. As we went the driver had to constantly be aware of horses, cattle, goats and sheep on the road.
Our first stop was at the side of the road where a group of nomadic people were selling mares’ milk by the side of the road.
They live in the valley in a village, but when it gets warm they head up the mountain, where they set up their stands and bring the horses and cattle to the high pasture.
Down the road a piece, there had been a small avalanche.
The guide suggested that it would probably be gone in about six weeks.
When we got to the top of the Dolon Pass, we stopped to take pictures.
Our direction through the pass was away from China to the north and west.
We came across some eagles flying I guess in search of prey or carrion. We also stopped to photograph some horses by a small stream. We passed more animals heading up the mountains for fresh pasture.
