Our last stop of the day was the ancient city of Gaochang which existed from about the first century BCE until it was destroyed by the Mongols around the 14
th Century CE.
I walked in and saw the sites – the final one being the Buddhist temple.
Some of the site has been rebuilt and you can tell because of the small bricks that were used in the reconstruction.
Bora sprung for the donkey cart ride out.
