Chora Church had also been converted to a Mosque although one room with pictures on plaster was left alone. Carvings had the faces defaced. In the rest of the church, the mosaics were covered with plaster. The mosaics were quite well done. Unfortunately I was not able to get any pictures because while cameras were permitted, flashes were not. At about the same time as Haiga Sophia was converted to a museum, Chora also became a museum.
