We left
the hotel at 7:30 in order to try to beat the rush hour traffic. Today was a
very active (and expensive) day. Our first stop of the day was at a Jade
factory. They had some beautiful carved pieces which (a) I couldn't
afford and (b) couldn't figure out where I would put them if I bought
them.

The second
stop was the Great Wall. Nobody told me that it wasn't flat. There
were stretches (fortunately short) that were steeper than the steepest I could
set the tread mill at the Y. I was proud of myself in that I made it to
the next to the top tower at least from where we were.
