From Victoria Falls to Botswana - 28 July 2016

28 July 2016

Today is the last day for most of the people on the tour, but Eric, Fai and I head to Botswana.  We got on a bus which took us to the border between Zimbabwe and Botswana.  After going thru customs formalities, we were directed to the bus that took us to Chobe Marina Lodge.  I am pleased with the accommodations although I would have preferred that my suite be closer to the lobby area.  After lunch which was buffet, we signed up for the river trip this afternoon and the Safari drive tomorrow morning.

On the last safari ride in Kapama, I think Elephants

The river trip was pleasant and we saw some animals although not as many as Kapama.  There is an island that at one time was disputed between Botswana and Namibia, but was settled by negotiation at the Hague.

Dinner was served at 7:00 pm and we requested the restaurant on the second floor.  Initially we were told that it was fully booked.  When we got there, it was far from fully booked.  The food was reasonably good.  I headed to bed because my wake-up call was for 5:00 am.
